Spotlight on Las Vegas as an incentive travel destination

17th May 2017

The bright lights of Las Vegas beckon, drawing you into the city of sin. This glittering city of extravagance will dazzle you with its neon lights, jaw-dropping shows and year-round sunshine. Add in some of the best hotels, restaurants and clubs in the world and you've got a truly amazing incentive travel destination.

We recently ran an incentive trip to Las Vegas for a top finance company; here are just some of the reasons we recommend Sin City for groups.

What to do in Las Vegas

Although often thought of as a haven for partying and gambling, Vegas has so much more to it that. It truly is an adult's playground, offering hundreds of options for things to do. Strap in for white-knuckle thrills on the exhilarating rollercoasters that top the Stratosphere Hotel, view the lights of the past at the Neon Museum and zip line straight into the Fremont Street Experience.

You can't come to Vegas without checking out one of its famous pool parties. Our guests loved partying at The Encore's three-tiered pool complex where non-stop DJs ensured the day started with a splash.

If you've got time, getting out of the city to explore the surrounding landscape is a must. The Grand Canyon is the obvious choice for this. Seeing the ground disappear below you as you fly over in a helicopter is an unforgettable experience, sure to be the highlight of any trip. For something different, try a Hummer tour in Red Rock Canyon or horseback riding in the Mojave Desert.

Dining out in Las Vegas

From burgers to buffets and Michelin to maki, there's almost too much choice when it comes to dining out in Vegas. We'd recommend choosing a mixture of cuisines and restaurant styles to give your trip some variety. One of our favourite choices for a classic steak or burger is Off The Strip, located in the recently developed LINQ Promenade. For a fantastic brunch try Honey Salt or Bouchon, both of which offer soothing, indulgent dishes which are perfect after a big night out. For a stand-out dinner, our guests loved Hakkasan and Costa di Mare.

Nightlife in Las Vegas

You'll find some of the best clubs in the world in Vegas. For a big night out, Tao and XS are two of the hottest choices, they're the kind of clubs that know how to take it to the next level. For something more chilled, Sayers Club offers live music and a laid-back vibe, whilst the Mandarin Bar is effortlessly cool and has an incredible view of Vegas's glitzy skyline.

We can't talk about nightlife in Vegas though without mentioning its shows. The city hosts some of the most lavish and expensively staged shows in the world, including phenomenal illusionists, the spectacular Cirque de Soleil and world class music acts.

Hotels in Las Vegas

One of our favourite hotels on The Strip is The Wynn. We've booked this hotel for a couple of group incentive trips and it's an absolutely stunning property. Its range of nightlife choices and exquisite fine dining restaurants means your group will be well catered for. In terms of other hotel options, the Bellagio is always a good choice. Opt for rooms with a view of the famous fountains and it's like having your own private show. The Venetian has the allure of transporting you to the canals of Venice, it's a must see hotel while on The Strip, whether you choose to stay here or not. The Aria is also a great choice, its state of the art in-room technology is always a hit with well-travelled guests.

Key facts

Las Vegas is seven hours behind GMT. There are a number of direct flights from the UK to Vegas, with a flight time of 10 and a half hours. Our standard itinerary is three nights, but there's plenty to do to keep you entertained for longer. For incentive groups, you can more or less travel at any time of year, although the summer months can be particularly hot.
